On Wednesday night digital agency Worn hosted the first F*it event series featuring a lineup of DC-based female entrepreneurs sharing candid, heartfelt, and often hilarious stories of the challenges they’ve faced on the journey to building their businesses. Nicole Aguirre, CEO of Worn, Sara Polon, founder of Soupergirl, Jennifer Ngai and Shizu Oskua, co-founders of JRINK, Rachael Glaws, founder of RGI Events, and Komal Kushalraj founder of NUMARI took the stage one at a time, telling stories and answering questions from the audience on topics as varied as the importance of a staffing plan, when to listen and when to ignore criticism, and how to handle sexism with defiance and class.

“We were out of Goldman Sachs before, but juice doesn’t come out of spreadsheets.”

– Jennifer Ngai, Co-founder, JRINK Juicery

It seemed these women have been through just about everything, from weasley landlords, to smoked out delivery drivers, overtly sexist clients, uninformed critics, and a total lack of appreciation – they’ve been there, done that, said F*it and moved on.

Best Question: When did you realize you’d made it?
Answer: Entrepreneurs never think they’ve made it.
F*it speakers Sara Polon, Rachael Glaws, Komal Kushalraj, Shizu Okusa, Jennifer Ngai, and Nicole Aguirre

What made F*it different from your typical panel? There was truly no holding back from these speakers. These women laid it all on the table. Every woman on stage admitted #thestruggleisreal and it was that honesty and candor that created a sense of energy and admiration in the room.

F*it 2 date in D.C. will be announced soon.
